What actually worked for sensitive skin after a peel?

QuestionAnswered, 2 helpful repliesAsked by Anonymous

I had a light chemical peel last week. Since then, cleanser, moisturizer, and the sunscreen I already owned all sting. The skin is tight and blotchy, not peeling in sheets.

I am looking for what people actually used in the first week: the product, how often, and whether the sting stopped. I am not looking for a routine to buy all at once.

Plain petrolatum, a thin layer at night, starting the day after the peel. The sting from my usual moisturizer stopped by day three. I didn't put the sunscreen back on until day five.

Anything with fragrance stung, including a cleanser I'd used for a year. I stopped it and just rinsed with water for four days. The blotching calmed before I added anything else.
