How it stays honest

View Verdict only works if you can trust what you read. These are the rules every member and every post follows.

Every post comes from a verified email.
You can post anonymously, but every member verifies their email first, which makes it harder for one person to pretend to be many.
Connections are always shown.
Owners, staff, and anyone paid or given something free must say so. It appears on the post for everyone to see.
Every experience says when it happened.
So you can tell what happened last month from what happened three years ago.
Nothing is removed for being negative.
Posts come down only for breaking the rules, and the reason stays visible. No business can pay to remove criticism or to be ranked higher.

Votes and accounts

Helpful means useful.
The Helpful button means a post or reply was useful to you, not that you agree with it. Each account votes once on each post or reply, and nobody can vote on their own.
New accounts can't push the rankings.
Votes from accounts younger than 7 days still show, but they don't count toward Most helpful or Trending.
Anonymous, but still accountable.
Usernames are nicknames, never real names. You can post or reply anonymously, which hides your username from everyone. View Verdict still knows which account wrote it, so the rules still apply.
