What should I know before renting near Union Station?

QuestionAnswered, 3 helpful repliesAsked by maple_and_brick · 1 post · member since May 2026

Looking at a one-bedroom about a ten-minute walk from Union Station. The listing mentions a concierge and a gym, and the rent is within budget.

Before signing, I want to know about street noise, building management, and what the walk is like in January. The showing was on a quiet Sunday afternoon, which is not the commute.

Go back on a Tuesday around 8am, then again after 10pm. The Sunday showing hides the rail corridor, and event nights at the stadium carry further than the listing suggests.

The 8am walk is the one that changed my mind. The listing photos are all from the courtyard, which is the quiet side.

The gym in those listings is the easy part. Ask who answers when the heat goes, and how long the last call took. That's the difference once you've signed.
