Movers arrived on time, then added a fee we never agreed to
Booked a two-person crew for a one-bedroom move inside Toronto. They arrived at 8, wrapped the furniture, and finished before noon. Nothing was broken.
The invoice added a $180 stair fee that was not in the written quote. The crew said the building's elevator was reserved and they had to carry boxes up one flight. That condition was never mentioned when the quote was booked.
The move itself was careful. The fee was the problem. Get every charge in writing before moving day, including stairs, elevators, and long carries.

Join the conversationSame thing on a three-storey walk-up last spring. The quote never mentioned stairs, and the invoice had a carry fee once the truck was already unloaded. We paid it because the boxes were in the stairwell.
That's the moment they have you. If the stair fee isn't a dollar amount on the quote, I don't book.
nice
i dont get
Our crew was careful too. The invoice still added an elevator charge the building had already billed us for. Worth checking who reserved the elevator before moving day.
